I live in the wonderful town of Bologna in northern Italy.
My country is right now going through the hardest times since WW II because of the spread of COVID-19.
I was meant to come to Colorado, the land I’ve discovered many years ago and that I can now call home away from home, next month, but of course I shall postpone my journey.
Today, it’s been my last working day since everything has been locked down and hopefully, I’ll enter some government layoffs program soon.
My thoughts run, maybe to distract me from reality, to all the friends I have in your wonderful state.
I pray that you shall not face what we are going through right now.
I hope you all will face the future with the courage and hope that made the American West the land that we all admire even from across the ocean.
My country has been locked down, it’s forbidden to leave home; only a few customers at a time are allowed inside grocery stores, the only shops still open; but I want to hope.
That’s a fair price to pay to beat a sneaky enemy that has brought to its knees the best European public health system.
I’m by your side and will see you all soon.
Be strong, think positive and andra’ tutto bene (everything gonna be all right)!
