After 10 years with Centura Health – Mercy Regional Medical Center, Will McConnell has announced his plans to pursue a new health care opportunity outside of Colorado. McConnell’s last day will be April 10.
The search for McConnell’s successor will begin immediately.
McConnell has been an integral member of the Mercy team since 2010, serving in progressive leadership roles. He began as vice president of process improvement, transitioning to vice president of Mercy Medical Group and Operations and Outreach Strategy shortly after. Three years ago, McConnell was promoted to his most recent position as chief executive officer for Mercy Regional Medical Center.
During his years of leadership, Mercy has received numerous accolades for its exceptional hospital quality and patient care, Mercy also saw improvements in its Leapfrog grades, was recently named as one of the best Rural-Community Hospitals in the United States by eMediHealth and Mercy’s primary care group, Mercy Family Medicine, doubled in size.
McConnell is also responsible for establishing Mercy’s Physician Leadership Council to engage physicians in the strategic planning of the organization and worked closely with the Mercy Health Foundation to oversee the construction and opening of the Mercy Hospice House.
