Sweethearts of Arts to be honored
The Durango Arts Center will hold its Sweethearts of the Arts event Feb. 11 to honor four women in the performing arts.
Gemma Kavanagh, Linda Mack, Rochelle Mann and Mona Wood Patterson are the 2012 honorees for their contributions to the community.

Music festival will hold cookie exchange
Music in the Mountains will host a holiday cookie exchange and special concert at 5 p.m. Dec. 13 at the Glacier Club. Attendees may participate in the cookie exchange. Participants can bring six dozen cookies (in a disposable container) and leave with six dozen assorted cookies. You dont have to bake cookie to attend. Holiday attire is encouraged, and prizes will be awarded for prettiest cookie and most outrageous holiday outfit. A special concert will be performed by Maestro Guillermo Figueroa, and cocktails and appetizers will be served.
Tickets cost $65 per person, and proceeds will benefit Music in the Mountains educational programs and scholarships.

Cutcher to perform library concerts
During December, the Durango Public Library will host several performances of classical and holiday music featuring musician Ruth Cutcher.
On Friday and Dec. 15, Cutcher will play a variety of classical guitar pieces. On Dec. 20, she will be joined by her students, ages 3 to 10, to play folk songs and holiday music.
