Photos: Construction underway at drained Haviland Lake

Haviland Lake north of Durango, normally full of water in late May, has been drained so American West Construction can repair the reservoir’s outlet structure. Work is scheduled for completion by late June. Because most of the mountain runoff will have passed by then, there will not be enough water for boating or fishing. The campground, which had been closed, reopened Friday.
