As I looked at the finalists under consideration for Durango city manager, I remembered Steve Ilg’s eloquently crafted endorsement of Amber Blake for the position, and I re-read it (“Shop local, for city managers like Blake,” July 29).
Steve, a local legend, made me smile, again. Blake has risen from within city administration and has proven her skills in adapting to changing roles. I admire her for that. What skill set could be more essential these days?
