My opponent in the Colorado District 3 U.S. House race, Lauren Boebert, wrote a letter full of lies (“Diane Mitsch Bush is lying about me,” Sept. 9). Boebert has said she would repeal the Affordable Care Act, ending protections for more than 300,000 people in our district with pre-existing conditions. She ran against Scott Tipton because he didn’t repeal the law and pledged to do it herself. She’s since tried to walk back her support for ACA repeal.
She can’t repeal the ACA and protect Coloradans at the same time. And she has not spelled out her health care plans.
I have specific plans to improve health care on the Western Slope and in Southern Colorado. I don’t support eliminating private insurance. People who have good coverage now should be able to keep it. I will work on five other health care solutions: funding rural health care, ending surprise billing, lowering prescription drug costs by authorizing Medicare to negotiate prices, fully funding the Children’s Health Insurance Program and preserving the Medicaid expansion authorized by the ACA. Many in our district now rely on Medicaid; COVID-19 has increased the need.
I’m an independent leader with a bipartisan record and plans based on evidence to address our health care challenges. I’ll represent you in Congress.
