Best bets this weekend include the Old Fort Cider release and Durango Autumn Arts Festival.
Southwest Colorado Apple Heritage and the Old Fort Lewis will host a release of their small-batch cider collaboration, Old Fort Lewis Cider, from 2 to 10 p.m. Sunday at Fenceline Cider in Mancos.
Seventy 100-year-old trees and 100 1-year-old trees make up the apple orchard at the Old Fort at Hesperus. Growing at 7,600 feet in elevation, these old varieties of apples and crab apples are selected for their hardiness. Some are specifically cider varieties.
Montezuma Orchard Restoration Project and the crews from the National Civilian Community Corps were instrumental in revitalizing the orchard.
Pizza will be provided by Sweetwater Gypsies. For more information, visit www.facebook.com/events/243435523645692.
HHH Durango Autumn Arts Festival will take place from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday on East Second Avenue between College Drive and Ninth Street.
Organized as a benefit event by and for the Durango Arts Center, the festival features fine art and fine crafts by makers from around the country.
For the safety of attendees, there will be no indoor live entertainment, food court or artist dinner. Patrons are encouraged to enjoy food from downtown restaurants. Social-distancing measures will be maintained outside, and art booths will be set up normally for the enjoyment and safe shopping experience of patrons.
