In response to “Getting a flu shot is especially crucial this year” (Aug. 23): I got vaccinations as a child and boosters. At that time there were three vaccines. There are now 70 doses of 16 vaccines given before the age of 6. Many have not gone through rigorous testing.
Currently, over 50% of children experience chronic disease. Have the interactions of this many vaccinations ever been tested together? Even the flu shot is questionable, especially for the young and elderly. The efficacy is typically between 30% and 35%, yet according to the journal Vaccine, it may increase the risk of contracting COVID-19 by that same amount.
Should we just continue down a road where drug makers determine our health strategies, or make our own educated decisions?
