Har Shalom announces events
Congregation Har Shalom, 2537 County Road 203, will hold these events:
Kabbalat Shabbat will be held at 5 p.m. Feb. 3 at the Alpine Bank building, 1099 Main Ave., Room 308. Rabbi Eliot Baskin will lead a brief service and then an oneg. Participants may stay and watch the Snowdown parade, which will begin at 6 p.m. on Main Avenue. Participants should bring pizza, soda, wine or other items.
Minyan on the Mountain at Paradise will take place at 10 a.m. Feb. 4 near the chapel close to the Paradise ski run at Durango Mountain Resort. This is located near the top of the main ski lift.
Tu BShevat Seder followed by Havdalah will be held at 5 p.m. Feb. 4. The Seder will include a potluck meal followed by Havdalah. People are asked to bring food for at least 10 people. Names beginning with A-K should bring salad; L-S should bring an entree (Kosher etiquette); and T-Z should bring a dessert.

Family Sunday school to begin Sunday
St. Pauls Lutheran Church will begin Family Sunday School at 9 a.m. Sunday at St. Pauls, 2611 Junction St., across from Miller Middle School.
This months program is Love! We Love Because God First Loved Us. The program, for children and their families, is scheduled for the fourth Sunday of each month. There will be a separate Bible study for teens.

Documentary to be shown Friday
Centers of Light will present Conscious Movie Night with a showing of I AM at 7 p.m. Friday at the Sophia Peace Center, 19581 Road 31 in Dolores.
Director Tom Shadyac converses with prominent philosophers and spiritual leaders about what ails the world and how to improve it during this documentary. All donations will go to support the Institute of HeartMath, a nonprofit research and education organization dedicated to helping people reduce stress, self-regulate emotions and build energy and resilience for healthy, happy lives.
