Woman sets Antarctic crossing record

Tears, joy at end of 1,084-mile ski
Felicity Aston crossed Antarctica in 59 days, pulling two sledges 1,084 miles from the Leverett Glacier to the Hercules Inlet on the Ronne Ice Shelf and becoming the first person to ski across the continent solo, using only her own muscles. Aston, 34, took this picture of herself at Union Glacier days before she traveled to her starting point.
