SolarWorks adds new staff member
SolarWorks, 270 East Eighth Ave., announces the addition of Elsa Jagniecki as the development, marketing and accounts specialist.
She has experience in fields of strategic planning, sustainability and creative design. She has a masters degree in Strategic Sustainable Development from Blekinge Institute of Technology in Sweden where, for her thesis, she interviewed community members in Denmark, Germany and Sweden about the keys to success for community renewable-energy development.
Jagniecki is a board member and communications coordinator for the Sustainability Alliance of Southwest Colorado.

Belize spine program receives donation
Resources for Medical Education and Collaboration has received a $7,500 donation of surgical instruments for their Belize Spine Program from Life Instrument Corp. of Braintree, Mass.
The corporation is dedicated to serving neurosurgeons and orthopedic surgeons with the highest-quality surgical instruments.
The program is part of the Resources for Medical Education and Collaboration initiative to partner with communities and hospitals in developing countries to improve access to quality spine care by promoting excellent clinic management from diagnosis to follow up.
It also trains orthopedic surgeons in diagnosing and treating spine pathology and developing educational programs to sustain community access to quality spine care. The program is a nonprofit organization founded by Dr. Jim Youssef in 2008.

Marketing course offered by chamber
A 10-week marketing course will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. beginning Feb. 15 at the Durango Public Library, 1900 East Third Ave.
The course will be presented by the Durango Chamber of Commerce and Simon Walls.
The full course will offer an online marketplace simulation, and each participant will receive a free one-hour marketing consultation with Walls and Durango Chamber of Commerce Director Jack Llewellyn.
The cost is $200 for Chamber of Commerce members and $300 for nonmembers for the entire series or $25 for members and $35 for nonmembers for individual sessions.

Terri Will joins insurance firm
Terri Will has joined Associates Group of Cos., Colorados premier insurance and financial services firm, as senior broker.
Will is the fourth generation of her family to reside in the Pine River Valley. She and her husband Curt live in Bayfield. Will has four children and two grandchildren.
