More remedial students sticking with college

Colorado schools doing better job with retention, Lt. Gov. Garcia says
Area school districts lag state

Except for Durango High School, students entering college in fall 2010, students from Southwest Colorado school districts were more likely than the average state student to need at least one remedial class.
Bayfield HS: 37.5 percent
Durango HS: 31.9 percent
Montezuma-Cortez HS: 59.0 percent
Pagosa Springs HS: 51.5 percent
State average: 31.8 percent
Data for other area schools were not available.
