Steamworks Brewing announces new hire
Steamworks Brewing Co.'s Bayfield location announces the addition of Michael Simmons as production manager to its staff.
Simmons began his career with JT Baker Inc., a division of Procter & Gamble, in Jackson, Tenn., after studies in business, mathematics and chemistry at Lambuth University in Jackson and Jackson State Community College.
He recently was production supervisor at International Gaming Technology in Reno, Nev., where he facilitated interaction of all facets of the manufacturing operation.
Since his start, Simmons' efforts have increased revenues on the wholesale side by nearly 40 percent, and in March, the Bayfield brewery reached capacity for the first time since it opened.
His addition comes amid the rebranding of the Bayfield operation as the "Bayfield Beer Factory," to define the operation as the facility for production of craft beer for off-premise sales.
The Bayfield brewpub will be open to the public at 2 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday.
It is located at 442 Wolverine Drive in Bayfield Center, Bayfield.
