Ignacio’s Alex Peña tried to use his patented “Rico” move to rally past Robert Darnell of Holly, but by the time he got Holly on his back, the two were deemed out of bounds.
Ignacio’s Teagan Overturf wrestled his way into the Class 2A fifth-place match at 160 pounds but came up just short, falling to Jack Woods of Custer County 7-5.
Ignacio’s Colton Wyatt couldn’t top Jaron Ragsdale of Norwood in the consolation semifinals, but Wyatt rebounded to claim fifth place at 195 pounds with a pin of Jesus Hermosillo of Holyoke.
