Durango illustrator and author collaborate on children's book

Author Sharon Ray reads to students from her book, Jumping the Grate at Sunnyside Elementary School Kid’s Kamp on Thursday as artist Shan Wells holds an illustration he provided for the book. Ray will donate a portion of proceeds from the end-of-school event for after-school programs at Sunnyside next year. Top: Ray’s book is about story of Sam the salmon, who breaks away from the comforts of his home lake and friends for the Ocean of Sparkling Waters.
