I was reading the Herald on Jan. 10, and there was an article about the new Purgatory Lodge. I read the criticisms and sighed.
I live in Forest Lakes, and the night before I had watched the deer dance on our Lake Simpatico. It was a white full moon, and more than 20 bucks, does and yearlings were in the middle of the snow-covered white ice sliding and playing with each other. I made sure to stay up past 11 p.m. to watch this for three nights, and it will be a memory I will always have to smile about.
Going to the library in Bayfield on Saturday, my husband and I pulled over by the high school to watch a beautiful bald eagle sit high up in a tree and, well, he looked like he was just cooling his jets.
We live in one of the most beautiful parts of the United States! Can't we be happy with the things we have? Instead of complaining, look out in silence on what we have. You may see the deer dance just for you, too.
