Sending off the home team at Wednesday’s pep rally, Chantel Edwards hugs senior guard and Wolverines’ co-captain Breetta Moe before the Bayfield High School girls basketball team leaves for the state tournament in Fort Collins. Moe and BHS will play Eaton at 7 p.m. today at Moby Arena on the Colorado State University campus, the Wolverines’ first appearance in the elite eight in 31 years.
About a dozen fans gathered at the center of the roundabout near Bayfield High School with signs wishing the girls basketball team well as they circled and honked their way out of town toward the Class 3A state tournament in Fort Collins this weekend.
Wolverines head coach Ronnie Posey addressed Bayfield High School during their Wednesday-morning pep rally that helped send off the girls basketball team to their first elite-eight appearance in the state tournament in 31 years.
