Pine River Library will join libraries across the Four Corners in a regional celebration of World Water Day, March 22, and throughout the month. World Water Day focuses on the importance of fresh water. The celebration is part of the We are Water project.
The library will offer a “Be a Water Detective” kit for children, which includes PH testing strips, instructions for water experiments, and water-themed coloring and activity books.
Adults may borrow a copy of “Beyond the Hundredth Meridian” by Wallace Stegner and join a virtual book club about water in the Southwest at www.facebook.com/WeAreWaterSW and join a Facebook Live event at 5 p.m. March 18. Host Eric Gordon will discuss the book and the legacy of John Wesley Powell with Patty Limerick from the Center of the American West at the University of Colorado.
