Baltimore artist to bring workshops to DAC
The Friends of the Art Library at the Durango Arts Center will present a free slide lecture titled "Artists' Books: A Wealth of Approaches" by Carol Barton, a nationally renowned Baltimore artist and teacher, at
7 p.m. today at the Durango Arts Center.
Barton is in Durango to present the two-day workshop "Pop-Up Paper Structures" on Saturday and Sunday.

The Colorado Council on the Arts and Denver International Airport are looking for artists to participate in a four-part rotating series of exhibitions. The organizers are looking for two-dimensional creative interpretations of Colorado environments and culture.
The exhibits will feature artists from the Northwest, Southwest, eastern and metro-Denver areas of Colorado, and the second exhibit will highlight artists from Southwest Colorado.
The "Creative Capitol: South-west Colorado" exhibit will be displayed at DIA from September through November and then will move to the Capitol from December through February 2010.
The deadline for entries for the exhibit is June 30. All application materials must be submitted electronically at www.callforentry.org. There is no application fee, but artists must be Colorado residents.
