No surprise but plenty of smiles nonetheless, Stanford quarterback Andrew Luck was the first player to shake NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell’s hand as the No. 1 overall pick in Thursday’s first round of the NFL draft at Radio City Music Hall.
Baylor quarterback and Heisman Trophy winner Robert Griffin III wears a new hat now, one that says the Washington Redskins. Griffin is the Redskins’ highest draft pick – second overall – since linebacker LaVar Arrington went second overall in 2000.
