Applications available for Liberty School
The Liberty School has updated Admissions and Enrollment Packets for the 2012-2013 school year.
Dyslexic, gifted and twice-exceptional (both dyslexic and gifted) students in grades first to eighth are welcome to apply.
Additionally, a grant has been received to augment the scholarship fund. These packets and scholarship application forms are available at the school at 215 E. 12th St. on the second floor.

Road construction to begin near Telluride
The Colorado Department of Transportation will begin a project Monday to resurface Colorado Highway 145 south of Telluride.
The project will include reconstruction of the road south of Mountain Village and south of Trout Lake. Resurfacing of the highway from south of the Telluride spur road, to the San Miguel-Dolores county line also will take place.
During repairs, drivers will encounter single-lane, alternating traffic directed by flaggers during the day and a signal at night. Once this repair work is done, likely by June 8, drivers can expect single-lane traffic during daylight hours through the projects completion in early October.

Daybreak Rotary Club to meet Wednesday
The Durango Daybreak Rotary Club will hear Amanda Tenski, a dirt-track car racer, share stories of her participation in the sport at 7 a.m. Wednesday at the Durango Community Recreation Center, 2700 Main Ave.
Tenski also will talk about the history of the dirt racetrack in Aztec.

Fundraiser for Kelleys to be held May 6
The Vault will sponsor a fundraiser for the Kelley family at 9 a.m. May 6 at 810 College Drive.
On Feb. 21 the Kelleys, a local family of three were in their home when an explosion occurred. In the explosion, the Kelleys lost their home, their belongings and suffered significant injuries. Support is needed for medical expenses and to help rebuild their home.
The fundraiser will be a competitive team workout. All donations will go directly to the Kelley Family Fund. Registration will open at 9 a.m. Coed teams of four people will compete. Participants may come as a pre-assembled team or register individually and be placed on a team.

The Shanta Foundation of Durango will host a showing of the documentary. They Call it Myanmar: Lifting the Curtain from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at The Back Space Theatre, 1120 Main Ave., Suite2.
