Durango swimmer Thananpot “Coco” Rujinunpanich set personal records in both the 50 and 100 freestyle events, winning both of his heats Friday at the Fort Lewis College pool. The foreign exchange student from Thailand entered this season with no swimming experience. “He’s been busting his butt all season,” DHS senior swimmer Carl Sallee said. “It’s cool to see someone working that hard.”

A first-year diver on a team of first-year divers, Durango’s Peter Bussian got to show the home crowd at the Fort Lewis College pool some of the tricks he’s learned this year. Bussian took fourth in the 1-meter dive behind teammate Austin Miller’s third place. “I think we’re all doing way more than we ever thought we could,” Austin Miller said.
