The canyon below Eleven Mile Reservoir is considered the best wild rainbow trout fishery along the South Platte River, but fish numbers have suffered in recent years because of erratic flows during critical spawning periods. Fish populations made a dramatic comeback last year, though, and expectations are high for the future. Here, a female rainbow prepares a redd for spawning in the canyon.
