Center of Light to show documentary
The Center of Light Dolores will present the documentary "God Grew Tired of Us: The Lost Boys of Sudan" at 7 p.m. Friday at the center, 30705 V.6 Road in Dolores.
This event is free.
Doug Pagitt, the author of A Christianity Worth Believing, will present his multimedia program that has been called part revival, part book reading, part hootenanny and part communal gathering at 7 p.m. Friday at St. Mark's Episcopal Church, at the corner of East Third Avenue and Ninth Street. The event is free, although a goodwill offering to help support the tour's expenses will be accepted.

The Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Durango will begin its summer speaker series on "Bringing Texts to Life" at 10 a.m. Sunday. The fellowship is located at 419 San Juan Drive.
The introductory lecture, to be presented by humanities professor Katherine Burgess, will address how sounds and rhythms connect with texts. On June 14, professor emeritus of English from Fort Lewis College Shaila Van Sickle will talk about the origins of language.
The Center of Light Dolores will present "Creating Your Life Using the Laws of the Universe" at 7 p.m. Monday , and June 15 and 22 at the Durango Coffee Co., 730 Main Ave.
These classes are free and all are welcome. Participants will learn how to take control of their lives, use for the highest good the laws of the universe and make a connection to the Divine that will bring contentment.
