Oui, the American women are 10-for-10

The U.S. is ‘playing tough, grinding it out here on the clay’
“It really shows that some of the Americans are coming through, playing tough, grinding it out here on the clay,” said Bethanie Mattek-Sands, one of 10 American women so far perfect at the French Open. “And it’s awesome.”
“We’re all pushing each other at the same time,” said Christina McHale, a 20-year-old from Englewood Cliffs, N.J. “It’s like a healthy competitiveness, I think.”
Lauren Davis, an 18-year-old qualifier from Boca Raton, Fla., surprised 30th-seeded Mona Barthel of Germany 6-1, 6-1 on Monday, when all six U.S. women who played were winners. Now she’ll face American Christina McHale in the second round.
Venus Williams of the U.S. returned to the French Open with a first-round victory Sunday against Paula Ormaechea of Argentina at Roland Garros stadium in Paris.
Alexa Glatch of the U.S. defeated Anna Tatishvili of Georgia on Day 1 on Sunday at Roland Garros stadium in Paris. She’s one of 10 American women to advance to the second round of the French Open.
USA’s Melanie Oudin defeated Sweden’s Johanna Larsson in their first-round match at the French Open, leading a resurgence of sorts for the American women at the French major. The U.S. women are 10-for-10 at the tournament so far.
