A Durango Fire & Rescue Authority paramedic examines Misti Bigham of Utah, after her Honda collided with a deer on U.S. Highway 160 near County Road 105, about 20 miles west of Durango. The deer came right up out of the ditch there was no time to brake, and there was nothing I could do said Nathan Bingham, who was driving. His wife, Misti, was transported to Mercy Regional Medical Center with minor injuries. Their two children, ages 4 and 2, were in child-safety seats in the backseat, and they were not injured. The Bighams were with a caravan of nine family members in four vehicles headed to Utah after a vacation in Durango.
