With the La Plata County Fair on its way, the Rockin’ Riders 4-H Club had to move its growing collection of baling twine from the County Fairgrounds last week. Club member Amy Gallemore lifts twine into the bed of a pickup truck at the Fairgrounds. She is joined by fellow Rockin’ Riders, from left, Abby Boyd, Emma Van Dyck, Maddie Shaline, Sadie Smith and Izzy Riley.

A company in Minnesota said it will take the used baling twine gathered by the Rockin’ Riders 4-H Club and recycle it into new twine. Emma Van Dyck lifts twine into the bed of a pickup last week at the La Plata County Fairgrounds to move it to the city recycling center for storage. Van Dyck is helped by Izzy Riley, Abby Boyd, Maddie Shaline and Sadie Smith.
