Durangoans’ granddaughter to swim for Mexico in Olympics
From Klein High School in Spring, Texas, to Texas A&M University to the Olympics, Erica Dittmer – whose grandparents Paul and Beverly Stacy Dittmer live in Durango – will take advantage of her dual citizenship and compete for Mexico at the London Games. Her grandparents will be there to cheer her on.
Durangoans Paul and Beverly Stacy Dittmer’s oldest granddaughter, Erica Dittmer, will compete in the 200-meter individual medley at the London Olympic Games. Through her dual citizenship, Erica Dittmer will swim for Mexico.
Erica Dittmer, an NCAA medalist at Texas A&JM, set four national records in Mexico at the Olympic Trials. One national mark came in her specialty – the 200-meter IM (2:16.39) – which she’ll swim at the London Games.
