Durango gets its first new hotels since 1997

Sports bar, extended-stay visitors focus of added amenities
Bouges, who uses only one name, with Western Sky Woodworks, works to finish the lobby of the Holiday Inn & Suites on U.S. Highway 160. The new inn, along with Homewood Suites, which is being built in Bodo Industrial Park, will add 194 rooms to Durango’s inventory.
Homewood Suites in Bodo Industrial Park is one of two new hotels planned to open soon in Durango. According to the Durango Area Tourism Office, the last inn to open in Durango was the Marriott Residence Inn in 1997.
The Holiday Inn & Suites on U.S. Highway 160, just west of the U.S. Highway 550 intersection, has been under construction since summer, and the firm plans to open it later this month.
