At the energy summit, U.S. Sen. Harry Reid called for the closure of NV Energy’s Reid Gardner coal-fired station near Moapa, citing health risks to those who live near the plant. Iris Daboda, a member the Moapa Band of Paiutes, was among about two dozen attending a rally outside the summit challenging NV Energy to transition away from coal.
