The Florida Mesa Planning Group will not meet this month. However, a packet has been received with the applicant proposing to build a second house on a 6 acre parcel. Information can be obtained from the Planning Department or comments can be sent directly to the department.

Construction update for U.S. Highway 160
As crews pave the new fourth lane and the full width of U.S. Highway 160 through Grandview, motorists will encounter traffic slowing and some delays from 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. this week and the week of July 6. Traffic control set up and break down will take place on either side of that time frame.
Motorists also may encounter traffic slowing through the concrete reconstruction project in Bodo and are advised to plan extra time for travel through the area.

"Before Stonewall" to be shown at library
The Durango Public Library and the Four Corners Gay and Lesbian Alliance for Diversity will sponsor a screening of "Before Stonewall" from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at 1900 East Third Ave.
This is a documentary chronicling the history of the gay and lesbian community before the 1969 Stonewall riots began the major gay-rights movement. A panel discussion will be held after.

Comprehensive Plan announces events
The Comprehensive Plan of La Plata County announces the following events:
•The Web site is live and can be viewed at www.laplatacountyplan.com. It explains what a comprehensive plan is, why an update is needed, and will have up-to-date information on the process, how citizens can get involved and more.
•Community kick off meeting will be held at 6 p.m. Wednesday at the Durango Community Recreation Center, 2700 Main Ave. Day care will be provided at no cost during the meeting.

Habitat to discontinue recycling program
Habitat for Humanity of La Plata County will discontinue its Cans for Habitat recycling program. Participants are asked to change out the Cans for Habitat recycling boxes or cover the logo.
