Warren Smith of Manna Soup Kitchen, front, and assistant Kelsey Jordan won the Iron Horse Chef cooking competition final Saturday morning at the Durango Farmers Market. Darrin Parmenter, director and horticulturalist with Colorado State University Extension, said Smith and another chef, Dennis Morrisroe, had 30 minutes to shop at the market for ingredients and an hour to prepare their dishes, which were judged on taste, creativity, presentation and originality of use of farmers market products. Parmenter said this is the fifth year for the competition.
