Canine nutritional requirements

A home-cooked diet for dogs is made up of three equal parts.
One-thirdprotein:
Low-fat ground beef
Chicken without skin or fat
Turkey, lamb, venison, elk
Organs/liver
Fish
One or two eggs a week
Cottage cheese, plain yogurt
Lentils, beans
AVOID:Rawmilk and animalfats
One-thirdcarbohydrates:
White rice, soft brown rice
Potatoes, sweet potatoes, yams
Whole-grain breads
Barley, millet, quinoa
Oatmeal – cooked or uncooked
AVOID: Corn
One-thirdvegetables and fruit:
Carrots
Zucchini, other summer squash
Peas, green beans
Apples, pears, melons
Tomatoes
