Parking requirements for land development will be the subject of a public meeting Monday.
The hearing is scheduled for 6 to 8 p.m. at the Durango Community Recreation Center.
The city is in the process of revising its land-use development code.
Officials would like comment about parking requirements for developments, such as new apartment buildings. They also are seeking suggestions about how ratios of parking spaces to a building should be calculated.
The city also is considering different parking requirements for different areas of Durango and allowing flexibility where there is less need for parking and the city wants to encourage more development.
Downtown parking-meter rates wont be a topic of discussion, but the issue could come up anyway, officials acknowledged.
A consultant recently recommended doubling the average parking-meter rate to 80 cents an hour and using the revenue to build a new parking garage.
