Fast start takes on a new Challenge

DHS cross country is ranked No. 1 in the state before its home meet
The No. 1-ranked Durango Demons headed out for a light workout Thursday at Fort Lewis College, and while several of the Demons went for a short run, other Demons did a water workout in the FLC pool. Both the top-ranked boys and girls teams geared up for the Southwestern Cross Country Challenge today, the Demons’ only home meet of the season.
Sophomores Johnny Middleton – son of Donna and Phil Middleton – and Shannon Maloney – daughter of Melissa and Murdock Maloney – of the DHS cross country team hang out before practice Thursday afternoon at Fort Lewis College. Middleton, Maloney and the Demons will run today in the newly named Southwestern Cross Country Challenge at FLC.
