After years of songs, Americans say goodbye to Sundhage with a W
Pia Sundhage got to see one more win from her U.S. women’s soccer squad, when they beat Australia 6-2 on Wednesday night. After taking the team to back-to-back gold medals, Sundhage is heading back to Sweden. “Today is Pia’s day,” Abby Wambach said.
U.S. Forward Abby Wambach broke a tie with Danielle Brogan and the Australian team early in the second half Wednesday night. The American women went on to win 6-2 for the 14th consecutive international win.
