Hear that? Volleyball returns to DHS

9 games deep, the Demons finally will get a home match
McKenna Franzen and Hannah Quick will be key pieces of the Durango High School offense in 2012. Franzen, a senior, was second on the team with 214 kills a season ago, and Quick is expected to take on an increased role after playing sparingly last season. DHS will open its home schedule at 7 p.m. today against Fruita Monument.
Senior libero Kennedy Clark returns to anchor the Demons’ defense for the seventh ranked team in the state, and Durango is looking for another Southwestern League title and a third consecutive trip to the Class 4A state tournament.
Natalie Bulen is back at setter for Durango High School after racking up 919 assists as a junior for the Demons. “I trust all my hitters this year, no doubt. I’m not nervous; I’m not scared; I trust all my girls,” Bulen said.
Durango High School head coach Robin Oliger is back again to chase the one goal she’s yet to achieve as head coach: a state championship. That quest will continue tonight with the Demons’ home opener.
