Emma Cannis and No. 14 Fort Lewis College got the jump on Mel Westhoff, Colorado School of Mines and the rest of the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference with a 1-0 overtime victory over their archrivals Sunday at Dirks Field. FLC (4-0-1, 1-0-1 RMAC) will host two more this weekend: Adams State at 1 p.m. today and UC-Colorado Springs at 1 p.m. Sunday. Cannis assisted the Skyhawks’ golden goal against Colorado Mines. “I felt as though possession-wise and football-wise, that’s as good as we’ve ever been,” FLC head coach Damian Clarke said Sunday.
