Arizona’s pitcher battles illness as Colorado battles him
The Arizona Diamondbacks got the jump on Matt McBride and the Rockies Friday, when rookie Wade Miley pitched for his 16th win for a 15-5 final over Colorado.
Diamondbacks starting pitcher Wade Miley didn’t look like he’d had to shake of an illness to become the second rookie NL pitcher to win 16 games when he beat the Rockies on Friday.
Adam Eaton, who homered among his three hits, wasn’t the only Diamondback to hit on the Rockies on Friday: Every Arizona position player got one as the Diamondbacks scored in every inning but the second.
Rockies rumpus

Rockies OF Carlos Gonzalez (left hamstring tightness) didn’t play. He is day-to-day. ... Aaron Hill needs one double to join Paul Goldschmidt with at least 40. It would be the third time in Diamondbacks’ history two players have reached the mark.
