Smith looks Heisman hopeful; Shaw goes almost perfect

Mountaineers and Gamecocks get wins, but Bruins and Sooners both take tumbles
Even if West Virginia had to work hard to hold of Darin Drakeford and Maryland, Mountaineers quarterback Geno Smith still looked like Heisman hopeful, throwing for 338 yards in a tough 31-21 victory.
There was plenty for South Carolina running back Marcus Lattimore to love about his quarterback Saturday. After missing his first pass to Lattimore, Connor Shaw threw 20 consecutive passes as the Gamecocks manhandled Missouri 31-10.
Ryan Murphy couldn’t hold on to this interception, but his Oregon State Beavers did hold on to an upset over Shaquelle Evans and No. 19 UCLA, winning 27-20.
