Furyk, Mickelson and Woods have a Ryder Cup reputation to mend against Europe
The Americans consistently have pointed to golfers such as Jim Furyk and Tiger Woods to carry their Ryder Cup hopes. Woods, however, despite his 86 wins and 14 majors, never has had a winning record in the Ryder Cup, and Furyk is is 1-8-1 in fourballs.
No other trio of American golfers has qualified for more consecutive Ryder Cup teams than Phil Mickelson, Tiger Woods and Jim Furyk. Collectively, they have won 146 official tournaments around the world, including 19 majors, yet all three have struggled at the international competition, and Europe continues to bring home the trophies.
