Ex-SEAL’s photos speak volumes

Humanitarian, Rhodes Scholar Eric Greitens to speak tonight
“Strength & Compassion: Photographs by Eric Greitens” will be on display at the Fort Lewis College Art Gallery through Oct. 12. About the photograph of babies in an orphanage in Albania behind him, Greitens said, “What struck me was that it was so quiet. They were so used to nobody responding that they didn’t even cry anymore.”

Eric Greitens will speak about his New York Times best-selling book, The Heart and the Fist: The Education of a Humanitarian, The Making of a Navy SEAL at 7 p.m. today at the Community Concert Hall at Fort Lewis College. The public talk is free. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. for FLC students, staff and faculty, and at 6:45 p.m. for the public.

The exhibit of Greitens photographs, “Strength and Compassion,” will begin today and run through Oct. 12 in the FLC Art Gallery. The gallery is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday and noon to 4 p.m. Saturdays. Admission is free.
