Flu, whooping cough vaccinations available
San Juan Basin Health Department, 281 Sawyer Drive in Bodo Industrial Park, will offer triple protection at its Walk-in Wednesdays from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. beginning this Wednesday.
Participants can get a flu shot as well as the whooping cough/tetanus booster vaccination. The Tdap combo shot is $14.70. Flu shots or flu mist for children up to age 18 also are $14.70. For adults, the cost is $25 for a flu shot or $40 for flu mist. Walk-in Wednesdays will continue through Nov. 14.

Resolving digestive issues to be discussed
Advanced Allergy Relief Center of the Southwest will present Resolving Food Sensitivities and Healing the Digestive System at 6:30 p.m. Thursday in Program Room 2 of Durango Public Library, 1900 East Third Ave.
Acupuncturist Caleb Gates will discuss how symptoms from food sensitivities and allergies can be resolved with Advanced Allergy Therapeutics and Digestive Healing Protocols.

ServeSafe Course offered for food service
San Juan Basin Health Department will offer a ServSafe Course from 8 a.m. to noon Oct. 29, 30, 31 and Nov. 1 in the health departments training room, 281 Sawyer Drive.
This course is designed for professional food-service management, and is sponsored by National Restaurant Association.
The cost is $150, which includes all of the textbooks, materials and a five-year certification test. Advance registration is required.

Health department ends home health
San Juan Basin Health Department will no longer provide skilled home health services as of Oct. 30.
Its home health staff has been working with current clients to find new providers. Four agencies provide skilled home health services in the community.
The Home and Community Based Services, a Single Entry Point program housed at San Juan Basin Health, remains a part of San Juan Basin Health. It continues to assist clients.
