Thanks for the very informing story about how the city of Durango battles graffiti and how the city has made business and homeowners responsible for removing the unwanted artwork from the flat surfaces around town that have become an artist's canvas (Herald, June 30).
It is too bad the city does not enforce these rules on its own divisions. The city sewer department has had graffiti on two of its service entrances since last December with no attempts to remove it. Anyone visiting Rank Park or walking the River Trail as it crosses the river on the east side has been viewing this art for months.
