’Bama and Oregon get our BCS vote

Alabama quarterback AJ McCarron is a poised leader (see the game-winning drive at LSU), is unafraid to let his emotions show (see crying after the game-winning drive at LSU), and he gives the No. 1-ranked and No. 1-rated (BCS) team in the country a sliver of star power.
After three years as a backup, patience and persistence have lifted Oregon running back Kenjon Barner into a Heisman Trophy contender, and his Ducks stack up as a major BCS championship contender. They’re ranked second in the polls and third in the BCS standings.
Kansas State quarterback Collin “Optimus” Klein is a Heisman Trophy contender and has led the Wildcats to a surprising No. 2 ranking in the BCS standings and a No. 3 mark in The Associated Press Top 25.
While Notre Dame quarterback Everett Golson continues to mature at his prime position, the Fighting Irish continue to grow as well. They’re ranked fourth in the BCS and the AP Top 25, and if they keep winning close games, they’ll be considered for a BCS championship-game appearance.
