Kirstie Hillyer, the Bayfield Wolverines’ 6-5 sophomore, had little trouble finding room around the net against Taylor Stephens and Colorado Springs Christian on Friday at the Denver Coliseum, Day 1 of the CHSAA Class 3A Girls Volleyball State Championships. She had 15 kills in a straight-sets sweep, prompting one CSCS fan to remark: “It’s not fair. She doesn’t even have to jump.”
