Questions surround coming health-insurance changes, (Herald, Dec. 9) stated that businesses that employ more than 50 full-time employees those working more than 30 hours a week will be required to provide health insurance to employees under the new Affordable Care Act. Then, the article said that the city of Durango may reduce hours for some part-time workers to ensure they are below the 30-hour mark.
Does this mean our progressive city is going to try to skirt around the new rules instead of finding a way to work with them? Isnt the idea of the new act to insure as many people as possible to create a healthier community? Durango has often found creative solutions to problems. Lets not stop on this one.
