It will be interesting to see if either President Barack Obama or House Speaker John Boehner will be able to sleep nights in the next few days, weeks and months ahead. The so-called fiscal cliff is not only holding poor people, like me, hostage, but it is also at the expense of entitlement programs that I have paid into all of my adult working life.
The constant bickering between the two of them and their staff members is astounding, considering that it is people like me who have given them their present jobs.
Health care is unaffordable at the wages I make most of my working life, Ive made less than $7.50 an hour and I dont see a light at the end of the tunnel.
They are playing with my livelihood, and Im in no mood to laugh about much when it comes to politics.
I voted for Obama twice, believing in giving him the benefit of the doubt that it takes longer to work out the kinks of this country than four years. I hope he doesnt let me down.
Boehner should put his differences aside and remember where he came from. They both need to put their pride and stiff-necked egos aside and get with the program. Many lives are at stake because of their foolishness.
But I know that no matter what happens, God will take care of me one way or another, and He will never let me down. With all that is not happening in this crisis, can either Obama and Boehner honestly say they are standing behind the people of this country? In my mind, thats not the case.
