An Ignacio man died Saturday when he lost control of his vehicle and collided with a dump truck hauling snow near Ignacio.
Brian S. Hart, 56, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The accident occurred about 11:05 a.m. Saturday about 2½ miles east of Ignacio on Colorado Highway 151.
Hart, driving a red 1997 Mazda Protege, was westbound on snowpacked roads when his car began to rotate counterclockwise and collided with its passenger side into the front of the dump truck, according to the Colorado State Patrol.
The dump truck was driven by Roger Klinger of Durango, who was not injured in the crash.
Hart was wearing a seat belt.
Drugs and alcohol are not suspected to be factors.
The Mazda was traveling about 35 mph, and the dump truck was going about 40 mph, which are both reasonable speeds considering the road conditions, said Trooper Jonathan Silver.
