The Doom and Gloom duo

At 28½ sacks, Miller and Dumervil spell terror for QBs
Elvis Dumevil and Von Miller foist doom and gloom upon opposing quarterbacks like Chicago’s Caleb Hanie. This year, they lead the league so far with 28½ combined sacks of the Broncos’ 48 total. When the Broncos snagged Peyton Manning and defensive coordinator Jack Del Rio in the offseason, the already prolific pash-rush tandem knew good times lay ahead.
After putting Cleveland’s Brandon Weeden down, Denver’s Elivs Dumervil put another sack in his stat column for 11. The other half of the Broncos’ pass-rush team, Von Miller, found Weeden, too, and now holds the franchise record with 17½.
Broncos bits

The Broncos have a tough test coming up Sunday, even though the Chiefs (2-13) are ranked dead last in the AP Pro32 rankings and Denver is ranked first. RB Jamaal Charles ran for 226 yards last week in a game in which the Chiefs piled up 352 yards on the Colts’ backpedaling defense and still lost. “That’s a crazy kind of number on the ground in this day and age where it’s a so-called passing league,” Broncos’ DT Kevin Vickerson said. ... RG Chris Kuper (migraine, ankle) returned to practice on a limited basis. WR Brandon Stokley (thigh) also was limited.
